Kudos for Manistique's Pioneer Tribune

CAVEAT:

This article is one of a series of editorial articles that express personal
opinions and views. They are written with no pretensions to be error free. I
will gladly correct substantial errors of fact. My opinions can change,
depending upon my awareness of changes in factual information. It is my intent
to remain focused on specific public issues, regarding the personalities
involved. For all I know, all the characters are saints, concerning their
private lives and other public business...

It takes substantially more humility, and considerably less effort, and care,
to express my general appreciation of an apparent change in the management
and editorial direction of the Pioneer Tribune newspaper, of Manistique,
Michigan. I have, for a year or so, been aware of a change in my perception
of the newspaper's de-facto philosophy of: "The only news is good news.",
which I have addressed in many of my editorials, within my web site's pages.

Regardless of how "wrong" or "right" I may be, regarding any issue, including
my perception of the newspaper's past slant, it is a breath of fresh air to
read, prior to, or subsequent to, whatever I may wish to oppose, some public
expression that indicates that I am not alone in the community regarding my
perception of offensive political events and reeking public business.

Like everyone else, I've had streaks in my underwear, and, I am sure, I will
continue to get 'em. But as one, less than perfect, I appreciate, sincerely,
the public recognition, by the Pioneer Tribune staff, that many of those in
the Schoolcraft County's political arena have underwear that should be
declared a public health hazard.

It is not about "black kettles", "glass houses", or "Judge not, that ye be
not judged."; it is about what is appropriate political behavior, and public
business, in a civilized society with aspirations for the future.
